Marcello Musto (* 1976 in Naples , Italy ) is an Italian sociologist who lives and works in Canada .

Life

Musto completed a degree in political science at the University of Naples L'Orientale , which he graduated in 2000. In 2007 he received his PhD in philosophy . Even afterwards he remained in the academic space. Since 2016 he has been Associate Professor of Sociological Theory in the Sociology Department at York University . Internationally, he was a visiting professor at various universities.

His main focus is primarily on Karl Marx and his theories. He published several monographs on this, especially in English and Italian, and edited edited volumes. Many of his publications have been translated into various languages ​​internationally.

In 2006 Musto received the David Ryazanov Prize .
