Marcia Barrett (born October 14, 1948 in Saint Catherine Parish , Jamaica ) is a Caribbean singer. She was a member of the pop group Boney M .
Life
As a teenager she immigrated to the UK . In 1968 she went to Germany, where she worked as a dancer in a discotheque . From 1976 to 1985 she was a member of the pop group Boney M. and sang the hit Belfast (written by Drafi Deutscher ). After several cancer illnesses, Barrett can be seen live on stage again with songs by Boney M. and his own titles. Barrett lives in Berlin.
