Marco Buticchi

Marco Buticchi (born May 2, 1957 in La Spezia , Liguria ) is an Italian writer.

Life

Buticchi completed school in his hometown and then began studying economics at the University of Bologna . In 1982 he completed this course with his dissertation . From winter 1982/1983 Buticchi worked in the oil industry and over the years also traveled to many oil- producing countries in the Middle East and Central America .

In 1987 Buticchi married and settled with his wife in Lerici on the Gulf of La Spezia . Although he self-published his first novel, his 1991 debut was hugely successful. He was celebrated by audiences, and official literary reviews compared him to Patrick O'Brian , Clive Cussler, and Wilbur Smith . In 1995 he was signed by Mario Spagnol from the Longanesi publishing house .
