Marco Fenske

Marco Fenske (born March 1, 1984 ) is a German journalist and media manager .

Life

Fenske has been editor-in-chief since January 1, 2019 and also managing director of the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND), the central editorial office of the Madsack media group, since March 15, 2019 . According to the entry in the commercial register, Fenske has been managing director of Sportbuzzer GmbH, a subsidiary of the media group, since November 2016. The sports portal was awarded the German Sports Journalist Special Prize in 2019.

On January 1, 2019, Marco Fenske replaced Wolfgang Büchner as editor-in-chief of the editorial network Germany. Fenske came to the media group in 2014: As head of sports, he restructured the sports editorial offices across all locations, in November 2015 he was promoted to chief editor and in July 2018 appointed deputy chief editor. On September 3, 2019, RND.de, the national digital news portal of the editorial network Germany, went live.

Before joining Madsack, Fenske was a trainee at Westfalen-Blatt (2005/2006), a graduate of the first team at the Axel Springer Academy (2007/2008) and then four years as a reporter for the magazine Sport-Bild and one and a half years as a deputy Sports director of the Munich evening newspaper active. In 2016, Marco Fenske published the football book “This One Second” as editor. 50 prominent footballers report in the work about the moment that changed their lives forever.

Fenske was awarded the August Madsack Prize in 2016 by the Madsack media group as “Journalist of the Year” and in 2018 as “Entrepreneur of the Year”.
