Marco König (born July 1, 1995 in Kaiserslautern ) is a former German cyclist who is active on the road and in cyclo-cross races.

Athletic career

In 2005, at the age of ten, Marco König started racing for schoolchildren and soon won his first competitions. In 2013 he became two-time German junior champion, in road racing and in cyclo-cross racing . He also started at the road world championships in Florence and finished 59th in the junior road race.

In 2014 and 2015, König started as a neoprofessional for the Leopard Development Team . Since 2016 he has been concentrating on cross-country races and is completing an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician at Opel .

Honors

In 2013 Marco König was named German junior cyclist of the year.
