Marco Munding (born October 15, 1962 in Stuttgart ) is a German racing driver .

Life

Munding began his motorsport career with the " ADAC Rallye School" in 1989. In 1990, Munding took part in the Peugeot 205 GTI Cup as part of the German Rally Championship. After a few races in the German Rally Championship he made his debut in the German Touring Car Cup in 1990. In 1992, Munding was promoted to the German Touring Car Trophy and took part in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (class win) and the Divinol Cup (twice Pole position) and took part in the German Touring Car Cup final. In 1992, Munding was voted "Rookie of the year" by the sports channel. In 1993, Munding drove a race in the German Touring Car Championship in a BMW and achieved class victory in the 6-hour race on the Nordschleife / Nürburgring. Further class wins followed in 1995 in the 24-hour race and 6-hour race (2nd overall) Nordschleife / Nürburgring (in a DTM BMW) and 7th overall in the 24-hour race.

He is currently supporting his sons Wodan Erik Munding and Donar Nils Munding (works driver with the CRG Factory Racing Team since 2017), who are active as racing drivers in the CIK-FIA European Championship, the CIK-FIA World Championship and the German Kart Championship.
