Marco Alexander Sanders (born August 11, 1979 in Rochester ) is a German - American basketball coach and former player.

Sanders, son of a German mother and an American father, grew up mostly in Heidenheim . He later played basketball at Spring Valley High School in the US state of South Carolina , in the 1999/2000 season at the College of Charleston in the first NCAA division (6 games: 0.7 points on average) and then at Point Park University in the NAIA . There Sanders scored an average of 16.5 points and 10 rebounds per encounter in his final 2002/03 season.

The 2.02 meter tall indoor player embarked on a career as a professional basketball player after finishing his university career and signed a contract with the Finnish first division club Salon Vilpas during the summer break of 2003. He came during the 2003/04 season on 41 missions for Vilpas and averages of 15.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per encounter. During his first year as a professional, Sanders moved to the French second division club Roche-St. Etienne and was used there in four games until the end of the season.

In the 2004/05 game he was in the Finnish second division with Lapuan Korikobrat under contract and was one of the team's top performers. In 2019 he became the coach of the first division team Ammerud Basket and in the spring of 2020 he intervened again as a player-coach in the action on the field.
