Marco (Severo) Solari (born December 28, 1944 in Bern ) is a Swiss manager .

Life

His father Guido (Severo) Solari, a Ticino from Barbengo (Lugano), was director of the Federal Aliens Police, his mother Willetrud Joss came from the Emmental .

Solari attended high school in Bern and finished it with the Matura. He then studied social sciences at the University of Geneva and graduated in 1969 with a licentiate . In his thesis he dealt with the political opening of Thailand under King Mongkut in the middle of the 18th century. In 1966 he graduated from the officers' school with the mechanized troops .

For the travel agency Kuoni he was resident manager in Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro, Palma de Mallorca and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In 1972 Solari became director of Ente Ticinese per il Turismo (Tourism Office of the Canton of Ticino ; today called Ticino Turismo ). Solari is married for the second time, he has two sons (* 1971, 1972). He lives in Barbengo in Ticino .
