Marco Zwyssig (born October 24, 1971 ) is a former Swiss football player .

Career

Zwyssighaus was only after graduating as a business economist at the St. Gallen University at the age of 25 years professional footballer. Before that he played for the amateur club FC Gossau until 1996 . In 2000 he finally became Swiss football champions with St. Gallen . In 2001 he moved to FC Tirol Innsbruck and became Austrian champion there . Due to the bankruptcy of this club, Zwyssig moved to FC Basel , with whom he became Swiss champions again in 2002 and 2004. At the age of 33, he finally announced his resignation.

In the Swiss national football team , he made 20 appearances and scored one goal.

At the end of his career, Marco Zwyssig returned to FC St. Gallen, first as a member of the board of directors, and later he took a position on the sports committee. Today Zwyssig works partly independently, partly as a course leader and lecturer in adult education.

In June 2014 Zwyssig tried his hand at coaching the women's team at FC St. Gallen . After a season in which he reached the goal of league retention with the team, he gave up this job again.

Marco Zwyssig currently plays once a year at IceSnow-Football in Arosa as a supplementary player.

Since 2019 he has been training the women of FC St. Gallen-Staad .
