Marcus Baur

Marcus Baur (born May 10, 1971 in Kiel ) is a former German sailor . He sailed the 49er dinghy and was previously active with the 420er dinghy in the 1990s .

He is three-time European champion (1997, 1999, 2003), vice world champion (2000), two-time Olympic participant (2000, 2004) and multiple German champion (1991: 420 dinghy; 2003: 49 dinghy). Baur is considered to be one of the most successful 49er sailors in the German Sailing Association . He contested his last international regatta in 2009.

Baur is an architect and lives in Kiel. In 2000 he was awarded the Schleswig-Holstein sports badge.
