Marcus Guilhem de Pothuau
Marcus Guilhem de Pothuau OCist (born January 16, 1970 in the Limousin region , France ) is abbot of the Cistercian Abbey of Hauterive .
Life
Marc de Pothuau entered the Cistercian Abbey of Hauterive in 1995, where he made his temporary profession in 1997 and his solemn profession in 2000 . After studying theology at the University of Freiburg , he was ordained a priest in 2007 . He held the office of novice master and was deputy guest priest.
After Abbot Mauro-Giuseppe Lepori had been elected Abbot General, the election of his confreres on September 14, 2010 determined him as his successor. Pothuau is the 60th abbot of Hauterive. His motto is "tenir la place du Christ - representing the place of Christ" , a quote from the chapter on the abbot from the Rule of Benedict .
