Marcus Metilius Aquillius Regulus

Marcus Metilius Aquillius Regulus Nepos Volusius Torquatus Fronto was a 2nd century Roman politician and senator . In the military diplomas his name is given as Marcus Metilius Regulus .

Regulus came from the Transpadana in northern Italy and was a patrician . His father was probably Publius Metilius Secundus , who was a suffect consul in 123 . Before his praetoric career, Regulus praefectus feriarum Latinarum , triumvir monetalis , quaestor and praetor . Military diplomas dated February 8th, 157, prove that he was full consul with Marcus Civica Barbarus in 157 . He was also an augur .
