Marcus Andrew Semien (born September 7, 1990 in San Francisco , California ) is an American baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB) on the position of the short stop . He plays for the Oakland Athletics in the American League .

Semien started playing baseball at El Cerrito Youth Baseball. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley .
