Massimo Silva (born August 24, 1951 in Pinarolo Po ) is a former Italian football player and today's coach .

Career

As a player

Silva began his professional career at the prestigious Inter Milan club and was awarded three times to gain experience. At US Rovereto and US Cremonese he scored nine goals each. After his return, Inter had no use for him, so he first moved to Lazio , but here he did not get a move, so he moved to Serie B to Ascoli Calcio in the same year , which was the first time in the club's history in 1972 played in the second division. Here he established himself as a regular player and came to over 100 missions in which he scored a total of 23 goals. For the 1976/77 Serie A season he moved to AC Milan and even if he made 20 appearances at AC, he could not prevent the mixed season for AC Milan, the club was 10th, but won the cup. This was Silva's only championship or trophy win in his career as a player.

In 1977 he was committed by SS Monza 1912 , who were playing in Serie B at the time. In Monza he was able to build on his achievements during his time at Ascoli, in two seasons he scored 15 goals and even reached the play-offs for Serie A with his club, where they failed, however, at the later promoted Delfino Pescara in 1936 . After the missed promotion, he switched to the promoted Delfino Pescara and thus drew the displeasure of the fans of Monza. With Delfino in Serie A, Silva played 25 games and only scored two goals, and he had to accept relegation with his new club. After relegation to Serie B, he played with the Blue-Whites until 1982, then signed with SS Sambenedettese , ACR Messina , SS Monopoli in 1966 and finally ended his career as a player in 1986.

As a trainer

He began his coaching career in 1988 at Comunanza, later moving to Martinsicuro and then to Grottazzolina. In 1991 he was signed by the SS Maceratese , where he had a very successful time for him: He led the club from the 5th division to the 3rd and marched through it. He achieved further promotions with Taranto FC 1927 and with FC Brindisi . He hasn't been promoted since 2009, and his results as a coach have tended to be average since then.
