Marecos is a municipality in northern Portugal about 30 km west of Porto . It belongs to the district of Penafiel in the district of Porto and has an area of 4.1 km² and has 1068 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
Marecos is known for the cultivation of grapes , which are still processed on site to make a white wine known in Portugal.
