Maren Collin

Maren Collin , married Knickenberg (born December 20, 1938 in Würzburg ), is a former German athlete who won a silver medal with the relay at the 1962 European Championships .

Maren Collin stood for the first time at the German Championships in 1957 with the 4 x 100 meter relay of Wuppertaler SV on the podium when the relay took third place. In 1958 she ran in the 100-meter run at the German Championships in 11.9 seconds in second place, in the 200-meter run she took third place. In qualifying for the all-German team at the European Championships in 1958 , the GDR sprinters prevailed. In 1959 Maren Collin took fourth place at the German championships over 100 meters, in 1960 she was fifth. In 1961 she won the championship title over 100 meters in 11.9 s, and with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 47.1 s. Over 200 meters she finished second behind Jutta Heine in 24.3 seconds . In 1962 she reached third place in the German championships over 100 meters. At the European Championships in Belgrade, the German 4 x 100 meter relay with Erika Fisch , Martha Pensberger , Maren Collin and Jutta Heine won silver in 44.4 seconds behind the Polish relay.

Maren Collin belonged to the sports club Wuppertaler SV . She set her best times of 11.7 s over 100 meters and 24.3 s over 200 meters in 1961. In 1963 she married the sprinter Manfred Knickenberg . During her competition time, she was 1.65 m tall and weighed 56 kg.
