Maren Thomsen

Maren Thomsen (* 1961 in Kiel ) is a German lawyer, former judge at the Federal Administrative Court and, since January 2014, President of the Higher Administrative Court in Schleswig .

Life

Maren Thomsen began her legal career as a judge at the Schleswig Administrative Court . From there she was seconded to the Ministry of Justice of Schleswig-Holstein and as a research assistant to the Federal Constitutional Court (September 1996 to June 2000) for several years . Furthermore, she was seconded to the Social Court in Kiel (2001/2002) and the Higher Administrative Court in Schleswig-Holstein (July to December 2003). In August 2005 she became the presiding judge at the Schleswig Administrative Court and in February 2007 Vice President of the Schleswig Higher Administrative Court . In June 2007 she was appointed judge at the Federal Administrative Court. There she was employed, among other things, in the 2nd Revision Senate, which deals with public service law. She has also been a judge at the Schleswig-Holstein State Constitutional Court since May 2008 and was elected until April 30, 2017.

On January 6, 2014, she was appointed President of the OVG Schleswig and thus resigned from the Federal Administrative Court. After months of argument, she was finally elected president unanimously.
