Margaretha von Westernach
Margaretha von Westernach (born Margaretha von Knöringen ; † August 30, 1553 ) was a German noblewoman and, together with her husband, builder of the castle in Bächingen .
Life
Margaretha's first marriage was to a Mr. von Riedheim . After his death, she married Bernhard von Westernach in 1517 , with whom she built Bächingen Castle from 1531 .
epitaph
There is an epitaph for Margaretha von Westernach in the Evangelical Church of St. Nikolaus in Bächingen an der Brenz . This was originally on the patronage gallery and is now attached to the inner south wall of the church. The 1.20 meter high and 0.74 meter wide epitaph is provided with the alliance coat of arms Westernach-Knöringen.
The inscription reads: Anno 1553 on August 30th, the noble and virtuous wife margret von westernach, born von kneringen, passed away. Whose soul may god be gracious.
