Margit Häberle

Margit Häberle (* 1948 in Illereichen - Altenstadt (Iller) ) is a German diplomat and has been consul general in Izmir since 2011 .

Life

After graduating from secondary school , Margit Häberle worked for the Bavarian local government from 1964 to 1970 and then completed a language course in London between 1970 and 1971 .

In 1971 she joined the Foreign Service and, after completing her career examination, was employed at the embassy in Mauritania from 1972 to 1973 and then from 1974 to 1978 in Hungary , before she worked in the planning staff of the Foreign Office in Bonn between 1978 and 1982 . After a subsequent assignment at the embassy in Spain , she was again employed in the planning staff of the Foreign Office from 1984 to 1988 and then worked at the embassy in India .

After she was head of the guest program of the Foreign Office from 1992 to 1996 and then worked at the Consulate General in Los Angeles , she was a consultant in the protocol department for state visits at the Foreign Office in Berlin between 2000 and 2003 . She then worked at the embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and then from 2007 to 2011 permanent representative of the ambassador in Latvia .

Margit Häberle has been Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Izmir since 2011.
