Margit Hofer (born January 18, 1964 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and manager. Hofer was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 1994 to 2004 .

education and profession

Margit Hofer was born in the city of Salzburg and attended elementary school in Herrnau (district of Salzburg-Süd ) from 1970 to 1974 . After elementary school, she graduated from the Wirtschaftskundliches Realgymnasium in Salzburg from 1974 to 1978 and in 1978 switched to the federal upper level realgyimiasium in Salzburg. In 1982 she passed the Matura at the upper secondary school . After finishing school, Hofer began training as a radiological-technical assistant at the Salzburg State Hospital in 1983 . She completed her training in 1984 and then worked from 1984 to 1985 as an assistant to a pulmonologist. In 1985 she took over the position of regional manager of the Austrian women's movement in Salzburg, in 1995 she switched to the Salzburger Landesversicherung as a sales representative, where she worked there until 2004. Politics and functions

From 1995 to 2004 Hofer was the regional director of the Austrian women's movement in Salzburg and between 1997 and 2004 was the deputy country director of the “Disaster Relief for Austrian Women”. She founded the “Friends of Europe Alive” club in 1998 and was president of the club until 2004. Between May 2, 1994 and April 27, 2004 she was a member of the Salzburg state parliament, and from 1999 she was also the club chairman's deputy of the ÖVP state parliament club.
