Margit Mueller

Margit Müller , married name Margit Meissner (born October 31, 1952 in Oebisfelde ) is a former German national hockey player .

Margit Müller began playing hockey at VfL Wolfsburg in 1960 , and in 1966 she moved to the neighboring first division club Eintracht Braunschweig . With the Eintracht Müller won five German championships in the field and three championship titles in indoor hockey. After 12 years in Braunschweig, she returned to her hometown club VfL Wolfsburg in 1978 and ended her career there.

The former record player played a total of 100 international matches for the German national team (86 in the field and 14 in the hall). In 1976 she became world champion with the DHB team , and vice world champion in field hockey in 1971 (IFWHA), 1978 and 1979 (IFWHA). In addition, Müller won the European indoor hockey championship with the German team in 1975, 1977 and 1978 . In 1980 she was part of the German squad for the Olympic Games in Moscow , but due to the Olympic boycott of the Federal Republic of Germany, she did not participate in the tournament.

In 1974 Margit Müller was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .

Margit Meissner taught biology and sport at the Ratsgymnasium Wolfsburg , where she graduated from high school in 1971 , until 2009 .
