Kurt Hoffmeister (born September 26, 1924 in Braunschweig ; † June 6, 2020 there ) was a German author , writer and historian .

His works deal, among other things, with the life of the poet Wilhelm Raabe and the honest clothing sellers in Braunschweig . Another focus is the history of sports , in particular the first German football set of rules created by Konrad Koch in 1875 , which prepared the ground for this game in Germany.

Hoffmeister worked for the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History , the Lower Saxony State Sports Association and the Wilhelm Raabe Society. From 1999 he was a member of the clothing seller. Hoffmeister was also a member and chairman of the TuRa Braunschweig sports club .
