Margret Middell
Margret Middell (born May 8, 1940 in Marienwerder , West Prussia) is a German visual artist and graphic artist .
life and work
Middell, was born in Marienwerder ( West Prussia ), now Kwidzyn in Poland. 1958 to 1959 she completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. From 1959 to 1965 he studied at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art with Heinrich Drake (sculptor) , Waldemar Grzimek and Ludwig Engelhardt . Then she lived as a freelance artist in Berlin.
The artist has lived and worked in Barth-Glöwitz ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ) since 1976 . On the occasion of her 65th birthday, the Kunsthalle Rostock organized a comprehensive exhibition of her works in 2005.
For the artistic design of the Marx-Engels-Forum in Berlin she received the National Prize of the GDR in 1986 as a collective .

Margret Midell "is the most prominent sculptor of her generation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Her life's work is in the tradition of classical modernism. In addition to sculpture, she has created a rich graphic work that corresponds in detail with it."
