Margret Pfäfflin

Margret (Margarete) Pfäfflin (born June 10, 1950 ) is a German psychologist and ethicist with many years of experience in the field of epilepsy .

Life

Pfäfflin first studied psychology in Regensburg, Groningen and Berlin and then completed training in behavioral and conversation psychotherapy. In 1999 she received her license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist. From 1977 to 1982 she worked as an industrial psychologist in the communal workshops, then from 1982 to 1992 in the psychological service of the children's area of ​​what was then the Bethel institution. From 1992 to 2015 consultant with a wide range of tasks at the Bethel Epilepsy Center in Bielefeld. At the same time, she completed a two-year course in 2007 for the “European Master in Bioethics”.

In 1992, Pfäfflin co-founded the specialist conference on Epilepsy North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and from 1992 to 1996 a member of the Public Health NRW research association with responsibility for the epilepsy rehabilitation sub-project. From 2004 to 2009 she was a member of the “Commission on Education” of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE). Among other things, she contributed to the creation of the epilepsy training program for families with epilepsy "famoses" (for both parents and children with epilepsy).

She is (co-) author of numerous articles in national and international journals, among others on the patient training programs MOSES and famoses or for the benefit of specialized nursing staff for epilepsy.
