Margrit Spielmann

Margrit Spielmann born Neinert (born April 29, 1943 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She was mayor until 1998 and a member of the German Bundestag from 1998 to 2009 .

Life and work

After attending the Polytechnic High School , Margrit Spielmann first trained as a teacher . She then completed a degree in rehabilitation education and communication science at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Afterwards she worked as a curative teacher at the district neurological clinic in Brandenburg an der Havel. In 1980 she completed her doctorate at the Department of Social Sciences at the Humboldt University Berlin with the thesis "Investigations into the objectives, content and methods of the funding discipline , familiarization with things and phenomena of the social environment" in children who are unable to attend school but are eligible for rehabilitation in day-care centers for rehabilitation - contribution to rehabilitative thought education through the content-related and didactic-methodological preparation of the recording of relationships between part and whole ” .

Margrit Spielmann is married and has one daughter.

She joined the SPD in 1990 and was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Brandenburg from 1994 to 2000 . As mayor she succeeded Bertram Schönwälder, who resigned in 1994 .

Margrit Spielmann has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of Brandenburg - Rathenow - Belzig and, since 2002, of the constituency of Brandenburg an der Havel - Potsdam-Mittelmark I - Havelland III - Teltow-Fläming I. In the 2005 Bundestag election , she received 41.2% of the first votes .

Until 2014 Spielmann was a member of the Brandenburg City Council .
