Bertram Schönwälder

Bertram Schönwälder (born September 24, 1936 - † November 6, 2018 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) was a German politician , pastor and steelworker . From 1990 to 1994 he was mayor and alderman in Brandenburg an der Havel.

Schönwälder studied at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg theology and placed there in 1961, the First Church exam in. In 1963 he passed the second church examination. In the Dübener Heide he made his vicariate and filled his first pastorate . After marriage to a pastor, he went to the parish of St. Pauli in Brandenburg (Havel) in 1974 . The marriage was divorced in 1981. As a result, Bertram Schönwälder was transferred to church retirement because he did not want the church to send him to another location . He then began training as a skilled worker at VEB Stahl- und Walzwerk Brandenburg and became a steelworker and brigadier .

In 1985 Schönwälder joined the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). In mid-1989 he finished his work at the Brandenburg steelworks and applied to the city council as a funeral speaker . He became a member of the city ​​council and the round table . On May 30, 1990, Bertram Schönwälder was elected alderman (responsible for culture and schools) and mayor. In 1992 he switched to the free voters. On a temporary basis he was also responsible for construction as an alderman.

In May 1994 Schönwälder went into professional retirement a second time. He volunteered for the Rotarians and a carnival club . Bertram Schönwälder died on November 6, 2018.
