Marguerite Duvillard-Chavannes

Marguerite Duvillard-Chavannes (born March 26, 1851 in Lausanne ; † December 8, 1925 there ; entitled to live in Nyon , Tannay and Bogis-Bossey ) was a Swiss women's rights activist from the canton of Vaud .

Life

Marguerite Duvillard-Chavannes was a daughter of Alfred Chavannes, a doctor , and Charlotte Fabre. In 1874 she married Jules Duvillard. Duvillard grew up with her grandparents in Lausanne. In 1897 she was a co-founder and until 1903 first president of the Union des femmes de Lausanne . In 1900 she was involved in founding the Federation of Swiss Women's Associations . She strove for a union of Swiss women across classes , languages and denominations .
