Marià Oliveras i Vayreda
Marià Oliveras i Vayreda , often referred to simply as Marian Oliveras , (* 1924 in Olot ; † September 15, 1997 ibid) was a Catalan painter who followed the tradition of the Olot School .
Marià Oliveras was studying at the Escola de Belles Arts d'Olot when Martí Casadevall was its director. His main teachers there were Josep Pujol and Iu Pascual . He belonged to the so-called artist group Indiquetes , which organized numerous exhibitions in Girona and Figueras. He also exhibited in Barcelona, Vic and Olot. In 2003, the Art Les Voltes, d'Olot gallery held an anthological exhibition of his watercolors post mortem. Marià Olivera had gone very separate ways artistically. His paintings, which are often shadowy, are reminiscent of landscapes.
Marià Oliveras was a grandson of Marià Vayreda i Vila , co-founder of the landscape painting school in Olot.
