Maria Nikolajewa Dancheva ( Bulgarian Мария Данчева , English transcription: Maria Dancheva ; born December 4, 1995 in Pazardzhik ) is a Bulgarian volleyball player .

Career

Dancheva started playing volleyball at the age of thirteen. She was inspired to do so when she saw a game of the men's national team on television. She was discovered by a talent scout at school. She began her career in her hometown with Hebar Pazardzhik. At first she played as a middle blocker, before later switching to the diagonal attack. From Pazardzhik, Dancheva went to CSKA Sofia . In 2013 she moved to Maritza Plovdiv . There she was runner-up in her first season. In 2015, Plovdiv managed to double the championship and cup with her. In the following season, the club successfully defended the championship title and was again in the cup final. Two more doubles followed in 2017 and 2018. Danschewa also played with the club in 2016/17 and 2017/18 in the Champions League . In 2018, the Bulgarian national player was signed by the German Bundesliga club Rote Raben Vilsbiburg . A year later she returned to Plovdiv.
