Maria Diaconescu
Maria Diaconescu (nee Diţi; born November 16, 1937 in Câmpulung Moldovenesc ) is a Romanian javelin thrower .
In 1957 she won silver at the World Festival of Youth and Students and won the World University Games. At the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm in 1958 , she finished seventh, and at the Universiade in 1959, she won bronze.
Tenth place at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome was followed by silver medals at the 1961 Universiade, the 1962 World Festival of Youth and Students and the 1962 European Championship in Belgrade.
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she was sixth.
She set her personal best of 56.64 m on July 15, 1961 in Sofia .
