This success led to Livaneli's recording of the 13-song album in December 1981.

Lefteris Papadopoulos has written new Greek texts for the melodies of Livanelis. Farantouri also sings some pieces with the original Turkish text or in a duet in Greek-Turkish with Livaneli. In addition, there are two Nazim Hikmet settings by the Turkish musician on the record as well as film music from Yilmaz Güney's Sürü - Die Herd .
