Maria Garagouni

Maria Garagouni ( Greek Μαρία Γκαραγκούνη , born December 21, 1975 in Greece ) is a Greek volleyball player .

Maria Garagouni, who plays the outside attacker at a height of 1.82 m, began her career in 1988 with the Greek club EA Larisa, where she played for six years. In the summer of 1994 Garagouni moved to the Athens club Vrilissia where she won four championships (1995, 1996, 1997, 1999) twice (1999, 2000) and third place in the European Cup Winners' Cup in the next six years . After a year-long stint with the Spanish first division club Burgos, Garagouni moved back to Vrilissia via ZAON in 2002. After Garagouni won the trophy again with ZAON and Vrilissia, she signed a contract with the traditional club Panathinaikos Athens in 2004 . With Athens Garagouni reached the double in 2005 and 2006 and met her younger sister Niki Garagouni again , with whom she previously played at EA Larisa and Vrilissia.

Maria Garagouni is an integral part of the Greek national team and took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .
