Maria Grimm-Einödshofer , also Marie Grimm-Einödshofer , née Maria Grimm , (born January 20, 1861 in Bamberg , † July 2, 1941 in Berlin ) was an operetta singer , theater actress and film actress in German silent films .

Life

Marie Grimm was the daughter of a royal. bayer. Railway administrator. She received her training from Heinrich Richter . She originally wanted to be an actress, but on the advice of Munich comedian Eduard Brummer , she switched to operetta. Her first engagement was in Marburg, followed by Marienbad, Klagenfurt, Meran and Salzburg. On the occasion of the opening of the Unter den Linden theater , she went to Berlin, where she switched to the role of the "funny old man".

She was married to the composer Julius Einödshofer since 1886 . They had a son.
