Maria Helena Johanna Fermin

Maria Helena Johanna Fermin (born July 6, 1897 in The Hague ; † April 2, 1980 in Zwolle ) was a Dutch Romance studies , Italian and Rhaeto-Romance studies .

life and work

Maria Fermin studied in Amsterdam, Groningen and Paris. She received her doctorate in 1954 under Paul Zumthor at the University of Amsterdam with the thesis Le vocabulaire de Bifrun dans sa traduction des quatre Evangiles (Amsterdam 1959). From 1955 she was a lecturer at the University of Utrecht , from 1958 an endowed professor and from 1963 a full professor of Italian. In 1966 she retired.
