Maria Isabel Alander

Maria Isabel Alander (born August 2, 1967 in Turku ) is a Finnish-Swedish writer.

Life

Alander is the daughter of the writers Siw Orre (* 1940) and Rainer Alander (* 1937). She attended to 1986 Katedralskolan i Åbo (Gymnasium) and studied from 1987 to 1988 at the Theater Academy in Helsinki .

Alander's works tell of the darker side of existence, the destructiveness of the protagonists and their methods of refuge, such as all kinds of abuse. She says about herself:

“I am describing ordinary people, usually unusual. People who are either happy or unhappy and on the other hand suffer from an acute inability to live. "

She gets her inspiration , especially in her creative phases, from sensory impressions, memories and the present, but also from films, theater, literature and music.

Alander has lived in Stockholm since 1989 .
