Maria João Rodrigues (born September 25, 1955 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese politician of the Partido Socialista .
Life
Rodrigues studied economics and sociology at the University of Lisbon and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne . From 1995 to 1997 she was Minister for Labor in the Guterres I cabinet of António Guterres . She has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 . There she is a member of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee and the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China. Rodrigues is one of the thought leaders of the Lisbon strategy .
