Maria Peszek
Maria Teresa Peszek (born September 9, 1973 in Wrocław ) is a Polish actress and singer .
Career
Maria Peszek graduated from the PWST State Drama School in Cracow in 1996 . Her father is the actor and director Jan Peszek . She has appeared in the National Theater in Warsaw and in the Teatr Słowackiego in Kraków and has appeared in several films and television series.
Her first album Miasto mania was released in 2005 and won the most important Polish music award, Fryderyk 2006, in the categories of Best Debut and Best Production. For Maria Awaria (2008) she received the Fryderyk for Best Album - Alternative Music and Best Lyricist as well as the Paszport Polityki in the Pop Music category. The explicit discussion of the subject of sexuality in many of her texts caused controversy in Poland. The last studio album, Jezus Maria Peszek , was released in 2012 and stayed at number one on the Polish album charts for four weeks .
