Maria Pfordt (born December 20, 1949 in Oberembt ) was Mayor of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia until 2017 .

After school, Pfordt graduated from high school in Jülich in 1969 . Then she studied for the teaching post in Cologne . She completed her studies in 1972 and taught at various schools in Bergheim until 1995. At times she was vice principal or principal at several primary schools.

From 1984 Pfordt was a knowledgeable citizen (CDU) in the school committee of the Bergheim city council for five years. In 1989 she became a council member and held this position. a. active in the school committee. From 1996 to 1999 she was the city's second deputy mayor. She was first deputy from 1999 to 2004. Afterwards, in 2004, she became the full-time mayor of the district town of Bergheim as the successor to Jürgen Peters (SPD). After being re-elected twice as mayor, she announced on March 8, 2017 that she could not continue her office for health reasons. She asked District Administrator Michael Kreuzberg to retire her due to incapacity to work. Her departure from office took place on August 29, 2017, when she was also honored as an honorary citizen of the city of Bergheim. On June 25, 2017, Volker Mießeler (CDU) was elected as her successor.
