Maria Roppertz
Maria Roppertz (born May 16, 1936 in Hamm-Heessen ) is a German author of Low German works and has been the head of the Hamm-Heessen Heimatverein for many years.
Life
Roppertz is the daughter of a carpenter. She attended elementary school and then first worked as a fur seamstress, later she was a housewife and mother. She worked in the Low German group of authors in Münster and in the department for Low German language maintenance of the Westphalian Heimatbund. She is a longstanding member of the board of the Heimatverein Heessen.
Roppertz was also involved in local radio. On the local radio station, Radio Lippe Welle Hamm , their program, which they produced together with Heinz Budde from Heessen, was one of the first on local radio in June 1990; it provided Low German texts and Dönnekes as contributions.
She lives in Hamm-Heessen.
