Maria Rosenkranzkönigin is a Roman Catholic parish church in Neubiberg in the district of Munich . It was built in 1928 in a functional, modern form and consecrated on November 11, 1928 by Cardinal Faulhaber .

history

The "Kirchenbauverein Gartenstadt-Neubiberg eV" was founded in Neubiberg in 1920 because the makeshift church of Maria im Walde , which was built in 1921 and is now the warrior chapel next to the parish church, was too small for the growing number of worshipers. On November 11, 1928, the Maria Rosenkranzkönigin church, built according to the plans of the Munich architect Franz Xaver Boemmel by the local company Metzger und Spörkl, was opened by Cardinal Dr. Consecrated to Michael von Faulhaber. In 1968 the church was redesigned and enlarged with a side aisle. In 2004 an electric bench heater was installed and in 2005 the church was re-whitewashed according to the requirements of the Office for Monument Preservation after the old layers of paint had been removed.

architecture

The church is a simple, clearly structured, white plastered building. Its total length is 40 meters (inside 22 meters) with a width of 13.30 meters (inside 11.20 meters). In the northeast, a very flat roofed church tower with a height of 21.50 meters is attached to the nave. There are three steel bells in the tower. It is placed under monument protection and entered in the list of architectural monuments in Neubiberg under the number D-1-84-146-1.
