Maria Sadowska
Maria Sadowska (born June 27, 1976 in Warsaw ) is a Polish singer, songwriter, composer, screenwriter and director. She is a member of the Phonographic Academy ZPAV. Her musical styles include jazz, pop, funk and electronica.
biography
Maria Sadowska is the daughter of the composer Krzysztof Sadowski (* 1936) and the singer Liliana Urbańska (* 1939). She recorded her first musical work at the age of 14. She made her debut with the band Tęcza. She took up her first solo works three years later. As a teenager, she also moderated the TV shows Tęczowy Music Box and Co jest grane and the radio show Twój Hit. In 1995 her first solo album was released. She also attended a music school in Warsaw.
In 2002 she completed her studies as a director at the State University of Film, Television and Theater Łódź . In 2004 she brought out her album "Marysia Sadowska", with which she was able to celebrate major successes for the first time. With the album Tribute to Komeda she achieved gold status in Poland in 2006 and sold more than 15,000 records. The single release Kiedy nie ma miłości was also successful.
On June 5, 2009 she released the album Spis treści, for the production of which Sadowska was solely responsible for the first time. Also in 2009 her 30-minute film Non stop kolor was presented as part of the episode film Demakijaż .
She directed her four music videos for Chcemy tylko tańczyć , Tomaszów , Tylko tu i teraz and Rewolucja herself.
In 2012 Sadowska was awarded the main prize of the Cottbus Film Festival for her feature film debut Frauentag (Dzień Kobiet) . In February 2013 she also received the “coco Special Pitch Award” from the Cottbus Film Festival, which enables her to pitch her new project at the 2013 East-West co-production market . She is currently working on her new album, the soundtrack for her film Women's Day .
