Maria Teresa Sobieska

Maria Teresa Sobieska (born October 18, 1673 in Gniew , † December 7, 1675 in Schowkwa ) was a Polish princess , daughter of Johann III. Sobieski and Marie Casimire Louise de la Grange d'Arquien .

biography

Maria Teresa was called Menonka by her parents. When her father became king, he decided that he wanted to have his two daughters baptized during the coronation celebrations. King Charles II of England and Queen Marie Therese of France (former Infanta Maria Teresa) were to become Maria Teresa's godparents. But she died a few months before her father's coronation. The death of the beloved daughter plunged Sobieski into deep despair, which was reflected in the letters of the spouses during this time. Maria Teresa Sobieska was buried in the parish church in Schowkwa.
