The Church of the Birth of Christ or Parish Church Laßnitzhöhe is a Roman Catholic parish church in the municipality of Laßnitzhöhe near Graz, Styria .
history
On August 13, 1961, the foundation stone for the church designed by the architect Robert Kramreiter was laid on a piece of land provided by Eduard Miglitz next to the main square . After a relatively short construction period, Pastor Johannes Kogler consecrated the church on July 14, 1963 to the patronage of the birth of Christ (Christmas, December 24). Initially a branch church , a parish was installed in 1972 . The official name of the parish is Roman Catholic Parish of the Birth of Christ in Laßnitzhöhe . The church belongs to the dean's office in Graz-Land , the parish is looked after by the Steyler missionaries from the Graz district.
Building description
The church's furnishings include the Christ the King's Cross by Othmar Klemencic and the glass paintings in the baptistery by Rudolf Szyszkowitz . The leaded glass windows were designed by Adolf Osterider and Leopold Birstinger . The Stations of the Cross by Prof. Schmidsfelden are on loan from the Schmid von Schmidsfelden family . The concrete glass windows are from a design by Rudolf Szyszkowitz and the organ was built in 1971 by the Walcker-Mayer company .
The church is a listed building .
