Maria Wern, Kripo Gotland (original title: Maria Wern ) is a Swedish crime series that began in 2008 and is based on the crime novels by the Swedish writer Anna Jansson about the police officer Maria Wern . Eva Röse plays the main role. By 2018, the Swedish television broadcaster TV4 had aired 38 episodes for the first time. Apart from the first four episodes, which are a film adaptation of a novel, two episodes each form an investigation case for the protagonist. The figure Maria Wern
The detective inspector Maria Wern has to experience how her husband Christer Wern is tragically killed. The now widowed and single mother of two can then be transferred from mainland Sweden to the secluded island of Gotland. Normally, the local police there deal with a maximum of small offenses, such as B. drunk driving or shoplifting . She hopes to find some peace and quiet and only deal with simple petty crimes in the police force. But the opposite is true. Instead, she is confronted with crimes that do not even stop at her family, as well as spectacular cases and multiple murders that challenge her and her entire police force. With her day-to-day instinct and constant ambition, she can solve the difficult cases and bring justice to victory.
Publication and episode list
TV4 always broadcast the series in 45-minute episodes. The first film adaptation of the novel consists of four such episodes and has not yet been published in German. All other films or cases in the original Swedish TV version consist of two episodes, which in the German dubbed version represent a TV movie. Episodes 9 to 22 were released on DVD before their Swedish television premiere, also in the form of feature films. At least the fifth season was shown on Danish television before it was first broadcast in Germany and Sweden.
Films 1 to 7, dubbed in German, were also released on DVD in 2013 and 2014, as season boxes 1 and 2.
