Marian Wojciechowski
Marian Kazimierz Wojciechowski (born June 24, 1927 in Poznan , † November 24, 2006 in Warsaw ) was a Polish historian.
Wojciechowski's father was the historian and co-founder of the West Institute in Poznan, Zygmunt Wojciechowski . He studied history and received his doctorate in 1951 from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. From 1960 he taught at the Felix Dzerzhinsky Military Academy in Warsaw as part of the training of political officers in the Polish army . From 1974 Wojciechowski worked as a professor at the University of Warsaw . From 1972 he was a member and deputy chairman of the Polish-German Textbook Commission for 12 years . Also from 1972 Wojciechowski worked as deputy secretary in the Department of Social Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
From 1981 to 1992 Wojciechowski was the head of the Polish State Archives.
