Marianne Dickerson

Marianne Dickerson (born November 14, 1960 - October 14, 2015 ) was an American marathon runner .

In 1982 she finished third in the Grandma's Marathon .

With a third place in 2:33:45 h at the Avon Marathon 1983, she qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . There she won the silver medal in her personal best of 2:31:09 h behind Grete Waitz (NOR) and ahead of Raissa Smechnowa (URS).

No further major successes were granted to her. She won the Baltimore Marathon in 1988 in 2:41:05.
