Mariano Julio Izco (born March 13, 1983 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine soccer player . His most successful time to date was with Catania Calcio , for which he played for eight years and was temporarily captain. Moreover, it is Izco is the player with the most appearances for Catania in the Serie A . In addition to Argentinian citizenship , he also has Italian citizenship.

Career

Career in Argentina

Izco began his career at home with CA Tigre in 2000, which at that time played in the country's third division. There he made 93 appearances in four years and scored four goals. For the 2004/05 season he moved to Club Almagro , where he came on six missions and had to relegate with the club at the end of the season. After relegation, he moved to CA Tigre, for which he ran up 27 times. There he was discovered and signed by Scouts from Catania Calcio .

Career in Italy

Izco changed officially in August 2006 to the then newly in the Serie A Ascended Sicilian club Catania Calcio and made his debut with a 2: 0 victory against Parma FC .
