Mariano Andrés Pernía Molina (born May 4, 1977 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine - Spanish football player . He is a dual citizen of Spain and Argentina. The former Spanish international was most recently under contract with CA Tigre .
He is a defender and mostly plays on the left wing. After an injury to Asier del Horno , he was nominated for this position by Luis Aragonés for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. In the last preparatory game before the World Cup against Croatia , he made his international debut and scored a free-kick goal. At the World Cup he was used in two preliminary round games and in the round of 16 against France , which Spain lost.
On July 7, 2009, Pernía was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Argentina. He fractured his collarbone and tore his lung.
In September 2010, Pernía moved to Nacional Montevideo . With the "Bolsos" he played seven first division games in the Apertura 2010 (no goal). In January 2011 he joined the Argentine club CA Tigre and was used nine times in the Primera División by the end of the 2010/11 season . He hit the opposing goal once.
