She started speed skating and short track at the age of four . Since 2006 she has been part of the national team of Canada. In early 2008, Mendes-Campeau took part in the Junior World Championship in Bolzano . Her best individual result was a fifth place over 1500 m, with the relay she won the bronze medal. In the 2008/09 season she made her debut in Salt Lake City in the World Cup. A fifth place over 500 m was her best result of the season, and she also achieved a third place with the relay and thus her first World Cup podium. At the Junior World Championships in Sherbrooke she again won a medal with the relay, this time silver. Mendes-Campeau could not qualify for the Canadian World Cup team in the following season, but she won her first national title. She prevailed over 1000 m, 1500 m, 3000 m and in the all-around. In the 2010/11 season she started again in the World Cup. She reached the final once over 1500 m.
