Marie Saine-Firdaus

Marie Saine-Firdaus (born April 25, 1973 ) is a Gambian lawyer and politician.

Life

She went to St. Joseph's High School (1987-1992) and then to 1994 to St. Augustine's High School . She graduated from the International Islamic University of Malaysia with a Bachelor of Laws in 2000 . In 2006 she obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Pretoria . From 2000 she worked as a state counsel .

It was on 14 September 2007 by President Yahya Jammeh (as Minister of Justice and Attorney General english Attorney General and Secretary of State for Justice ) of the Republic of The Gambia to the Cabinet appointed. She replaces Kebba Sanyang , who is moving to the Department of Labor, Construction and Infrastructure Development ( Secretary of State for Works, Construction and Infrastructure ). She was previously known to the public as Vice-Chair of the Child Protection Alliance (CPA). Before being appointed Minister, she was Deputy Chair of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

She remained in the office of Minister of Justice until February 2010, and was succeeded by Edward Gomez in March .

Honors

Saine-Firdaus received the Order Officer (ORG) in May 2009.
